Float Traps, Condensate Systems, and Outdoor Cold Water Supply Lines on Military Bases
Our HAT/FP thermostatic self-operating freeze protection valve monitors the ambient or water temperature in the system, bleeding off the cold water and allowing warmer water to backfill to prevent freeze damage.
Relying on manually opening valves for freeze protection allows for human error or plugging of partially cracked valves. This annually accounts for large amounts of freeze damage resulting in huge monetary loss including repairing damaged equipment, piping, as well as system downtime.
The thermostatic HAT/FP eliminates the human errors associated with manual valves by automatically opening and closing the valve protecting your equipment and conserving water usage.
Tepid Water Delivery
Safety Showers and Combination Face/Eyewash Stations
Our Therm-O-Mix® Station provides tepid water on demand at safety showers and combination face/eyewash stations. It utilizes a facilities existing steam and water supply to provide OSHA and ANSI requirements of 80°F (26.7°C) water for a minimum & continuous 15-minute cycle at each fixture.
Our HAT/FP thermostatic freeze protection valve installed on safety showers and combination face/eyewash stations monitors either the ambient temperature or water temperature and then responds by bleeding off the cold water and allowing warmer water to backfill to prevent the pipes from freezing.
Our HAT/SP thermostatic scald protection valve installed on safety showers and combination face/eyewash stations monitors either the ambient temperature or water temperature and then responds by bleeding off the excessively hot water and allowing cooler water to backfill to prevent an individual from being scalded when they activate the emergency fixture.
Domestic Hot Water Recirculation Systems
Domestic hot water recirculation systems need to be balanced in order to ensure that hot water is always available throughout the building. This is complicated because water flows in the path of least resistance and in open systems like these that can change constantly. Our thermostatic balancing valve, CircuitSolver®, automatically and continuously adjusts flow to maintain the specified temperature at the end of each branch. Utilizing a thermal actuator to modulate the valve open and closed in response to temperature variations, the CircuitSolver® is able to quickly and consistently direct hot water flow to where it is needed.
This solves the problem of delayed hot water delivery while eliminating the need for time consuming, expensive manual balancing procedures and equipment. The valve will never fully close, always allowing a small amount of bypass flow to avoid dead-heading the recirculation pump. This maintains a thermally balanced system that responds dynamically to varied usage rates throughout the day.
Drain Water Tempering
Our drain tempering valve (DTV) valve can be used in applications where a high temperature discharge flow to a drain or sewer must be tempered with cold water to meet the plumbing code requirements of temperatures less than 140°F (60°C) going to the drain. Equipment such as industrial dishwashers, steam humidifiers, autoclaves, etc. can have effluent discharge in excess of 180°F (82.2°C) and must be tempered to avoid costly consequences – failed inspections, fines, business interruptions, or injury and damage to personnel and equipment.
The DTV is installed into the drain line and the tempering cold water supply connects to the inlet. The thermostatic actuator monitors the temperature of the hot effluent and modulates the cold water from the inlet port to efficiently temper the effluent going down the drain.
Food Processing Machinery/Chemical Tanks & Equipment
STVM® Washdown Station delivers a high temperature wash down using a proprietary mixing valve that combines steam and water for a constant stream at the operator’s set temperature.
The patented mixing design ensures long uninterrupted use even if there is high mineral content in the water. As the opposing vortices of steam and water enter the mixing valve, a scouring action occurs that minimizes the buildup of minerals and scale.
This unique Venturi mixing technology delivers water at the required temperature quickly, quietly and on demand.
